BrailleNotes, Form Fields, and Frustration

Have an mPower? Then try this: go to Gmail, log out if you're logged in, and now log back in. Ha! Can't do it, can you? Now try Amazon. Same thing, eh? The "email/username" form field simply won't appear. Why has no one demanded a fix for this? It's absurd! It's true of other sites, too. Is there a fix?! Does the Apex fix this awful irritant?

Had no problems with form fields disappearing when I had my Apex. I could log out of gmail, for example, and log back in again with the form field still being there.

Good. :) My Apex is arriving soon. Hope that will remedy this.

Hello
I'm not sure about amazon, but there is a fix for gmail. Using a modified html page, you can easily fix this. I don't know how I could get this to you and I don't know if it works with an mPower, but there's no time like the present to learn right? So if you contact me we can talk. Also, during the time of this post, ks 9.3 is going to be realeased soon which should take care of the apex. I'm sorry to say that they are no longer making upgrades to the mPower. hth

I now have an Apex. Still suffering the exact same glitches, as well as horrendous "security dialog" issues.

Same here as the above post. The fact that they make a product worth thousands of dollars that has glitches like this is unacceptable and ridiculous. There is no reason for this. Once this device dies I'm not getting another one. Humanware has a lot to prove to me from this point on.

Agreed! :) When is KeySoft 9.3 launching?

That, my friend is the question of the hour, er month
I have lost faith in them after they lied and said it be released in the week, apparently, Greg (braille products manager) is out of office until monday, thanks for lying to us again hw
Btw, you can try to close the dialogues (don't try to close all of them, I.E bookshare will come back with the page cannot be displayed if you close the first
Anyway, contact me if you want the page

Heh, here's hoping HumanWare tries a little accountability sometime in their future.

I tried not to laugh at them when they gave a speech about their products and intentions of the future at the National Convention. For right now I just took it as all talk and a means to try and cover their asses, but we'll see.

I do like my BrailleNote, being the only notetaker that doesn't totally suck, as it only partially sucks. But it's limitations are absurd. Frozen in random "security dialogs?" Invisible/vanishing form fields? I mean, the storage capacity even on the Apex is shit: 8GB? My damned iPod holds 4 times that much, and it's so tiny. The internet freezes loading almost every page. How can they justify these products being $5,000+?!

Hi,
I couldn't even see the edit field for me to enter my username. How did you guys signed into GMail? Also, will there be a new BrailleNote coming out this year? It has been ages since the Apex came out. Did you guys hear any rumors of it?

I just updated to 9.3, I was working at a summer camp so couldn't do it earlier, and so far my form field, freezing, and security dialog issues are gone. hurray!!!! How does it do with docx files? haven't tried yet.
also, there is apparently a braillesense you coming out that can do youtube and tons of stuff the bn can't do. anybody know anything?

It seems like there aren't a whole lot of BrailleNote users on this site, if there are I guess they don't post often or look at the boards often. I don't know a whole lot more than the poster above me but that's what I've heard as well.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this off-topic but any advise that I can get is greatly appreciately.

I'll be helping my friend to update a BrailleNote Apex to Keysoft 9.3. I've read Humanware's instructions and I think I can do it. I would like to ask, what are the things that I should do or shouldn't do during the update other then plugging the Braillenote to the AC adapter and not resetting it during updates? What are the thing that I should take note off? Could you guys give me any advise on the updating process? Also, I've read that the updating process takes about ten minutes, is that true?

For those of you who've already updated, did you face any problems or heard of people facing problems when updating?

The instructions are simple enough but the BrailleNote Apex being priced as it is, I really wish to avoid all and any problems. Thanks in advance for any advise and help you could offer me and I'd really appreciate it.
